Lawyers & Lawyers was founded by Mohammad Asad Rajput, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, in November 1996. Mr Rajput is the Principal Practitioner for Lawyers & Lawyers, and has an extensive experience of over 27 years. He has also served as the Deputy Attorney General for Pakistan, and is consequently well versed in compliance and regulatory affairs of the federal ministries, corporations & departments. Lawyers & Lawyers is based in Islamabad and deals with matters throughout Pakistan and abroad.

Islamabad International Airport (IIA)
IAA Terminal Building was a contract based upon FIDIC forms, awarded by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to the Joint Venture of China State Construction Cooperation (CSCC) and Frontiers Works Organisation (FWO). We acted as the legal advisers and consultants for FWO on this project.
Our scope of work was very comprehensive, starting from the drafting of the first MOU, to JV agreement(s), as well as legal advice at every step of the project. This included meetings with CAA, project managers, CSCC, and the overlapping contractors. We provided consultation and advised FWO on the legal aspects of all issues of the project.
We also litigated on behalf of FWO before the Supreme Court of Pakistan with regards to this project and safeguarded their legal interests therein.

Lai Expressway Project
We were legal advisors for FWO in the Lai Expressway Project, wherein their guarantees were called upon by Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).
We obtained a status quo in the matter for FWO, till the finalisation of arbitration and prepared and filed the case titled “FWO vs RDA etc.” praying for arbitration and were successfully able to restrain the defendants (RDA) from encashing the advance payment and performance guarantees.

Karachi Financial Tower (KFT)
Lawyers & Lawyers acted as legal advisors to ENSHAANLC Developments (Pvt) Ltd for the Karachi Financial Tower project. We assessed and advised with regards to the JVA between ENSHAA and NLC for the construction of KFT.
We provided consultancy to ENSHAANLC Developments (Pvt) Ltd on their legal structure and on the legal relationship and consequential matters arising between ENSHAANLC Developments (Pvt) Ltd – JVA (Employer) and Arabtech (Pvt.) Lltd (Contractor).

Frontier Works Organization Legal Restructuring
Prepared the proposal of legal restructuring of FWO to make the organization legally viable for participating in mega projects in the private sector, nationally and internationally.
The restructuring proposal was devised keeping in mind the compliance, regulatory, tax, and other corporate concerns of FWO as indicated in their policy and strategy.

Advisory to NIB Bank Ltd. (NIB) and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS)
Lawyers & Lawyers advised NIB and RBS, amongst others, on anti money laundering (AML), white collar crimes, contracts, agreements, guarantees, letters of credits, cross-border transactions, internal and external procedures, corporate affairs, dispute resolution, and operational, compliance, and regulatory matters.
We also advised NIB on the proposed legal structuring issues arising out of their purchase of National Development Finance Corporation (NDFC). We assessed, advised, and monitored the issues of legal structuring that arose from the takeover of RBS by Faysal Bank, on behalf of RBS.
